Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond announced today that he is considering potential legal action against one or more natural gas marketers for alleged market manipulation during Winter Storm Uri. Drummond says the state could pursue a lawsuit seeking over a billion dollars. The A-G noted his office doesn't have the legal expertise needed for such an expensive and challenging lawsuit, so he plans to solicit outside legal counsel. He says a review he ordered has found that many companies used the devastating 2021 storm to rake in billions of dollars in ill-gotten gains.
